Great timing, I need one to clean some of my Blockbuster VHS and prepare them for return. Hopefully they won't charge me too much on late fees.

I have a VHS / DVD player that outputs in HDMI (this is not at all common). Might as well grab this, connect an elgato capture card, and convert the home videos to digital. No clue when the device was cleaned last, as I found it off of facebook marketplace. It works, but could most likely be better. Thanks OP

*Edit*
We forgot mom also has an DVD/VHS player that allows HDMI VHS.

Panasonic DMR-EZ48V
JVC DR-MV150

Proof they play in HDMI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1gYrlwCNbY

Don't be too quick to judge on people who own VHS tapes... lol... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s26J8pJJZqs

Out of curiosity what model is it?

Also, does it output the VHS to the HDMI, and if so is it upscaling it?

I think Sony made a VHS/DVD that had HDMI. That one upscaled DVD and outputted it to HDMI.

That model I'm pretty sure did not output VHS through the HDMI

They made also vcr/dvd recorder with digital tuner. I know I recorded TV (FIFA games like 10yr ago) to DVDs and I think it's also possible to record from vcr to DVD (1-1 speed though only). I'll have to check if it outputs vcr to hdmi though.
