For devices with only USB C, Bluetooth is easier.

I recently got a BT mouse. It was easier because I have 1 less thing to loose. I have noticed there is a bit of lag, but I guess it's worth it to not mess with one extra device. Why do you choose wireless dongle over Bluetooth?

It seems any mouse other than Microsoft or Logitech need to have a button click to wake it up from sleep. I find that really annoying. I hope this one's actually made by Logitech...looks kind of like a Logitech design.

Looks like amazonbasics design. where the scroll wheel stopped working after few months.

I would spend an additional $5 on this Microsoft one.

What's the market like on these non-gamer handheld mice? Everyone in my office either loves their touchpad or are trackball mice holdovers.

I've had this mouse (Same model) for around 2 years to use with Microsoft Surface Pro-both which I no longer have with me. Surface Pro came with only 1 USB port, so having as many devices connected via Bluetooth was ideal.

For basic web browsing it was perfectly adequate, although low refresh rate made it difficult to use with Photoshop or any other programs that required delicate mouse navigation. I don't know if low refresh rate is simply nature of Bluetooth tech, because Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed moves just as poorly when it's switched to Bluetooth mode.

The mouse does go to sleep mode after a minute or so of inactivity. A flick or two usually wakes it back up. I've never had the device dropping connection, and all buttons worked without issues during those two years.

One other thing that mattered more than I realized was the click volume: I've used Logitech G305 and previously-mentioned Basilisk X, and both mice have noticeably louder clicks compared to Insignia mouse. I work in an office environment that's usually quiet, so the difference in volume came as an unexpected inconvenience.
