These seem like a bad idea for night time driving (of course, one could just turn them off) with accidents waiting to be had.

ambient lighting is meant to be a subtle glow. these things look way to bright.
Wow, you both should not be posting here. The product clearly isn't for you.

Other than an overhead light that every car has being brighter (by placement/design) these indeed can be turned off or on and check this out - can be dimmed or brightened.

There is literally nothing you can say that is helpful for anyone wanting to buy one. You just sound like folks that are in the wrong place.

They could even be used as a single orange/yellow tint to help visibility just like the overhead light every car has. a very practical use case.... never thought of that huh?

You're right. Concerns for people's safety should not be brought up. Thank you for your contribution to deter conversation.

Just adding my experience. I have an older version, dif brand most likely, but have had them installed for 2 years or so. The thing is, if you install them like it shows in the product pictures, then yes dumb idea. I installed them so they only shine down at my feet and under my seat so at the rear passengers feet. They never turn off, day or night, that's my preference. Even at night I hardly notice them on, because they're just ambient light way below my eyesight. Other driver's bluish HID lights are 1000x more distracting than these will ever be.

That makes sense. Definitely appreciate your experience on this since just going off the pictures it didn't seem like the safest of products, but where they're installed would make a big difference.

Have you own any luxury car in the past few years?
If your argument is that buying these makes your car similar to a luxury car since those have LEDs inside, then I think you're in the right place.

I will say, I hope whatever caused you to want to just straight reply initially with condescension that you're able to talk to someone to get the help you need. Rooting for ya bud!

Dimed static light is perfectly fine at night, flickering (to music) bright light is the ritual for summoning the reaper.

Oh and you would also likely distract other drivers at nighttime with bright flickering lights.
