Latter. Imagine have a good time at beautiful pools and an upscale restaurants without small children running around. Not saying there shouldn't be nice places for kids, but there should also be nice places for those that don't want to be around them.

Food here isn't great unless you stay at the attached Ocean Point, which are nicer rooms and adds an upscale-ish restaurant (we had EVERY meal there, the menu changes daily). It's adults only.

Ok property (I toured it and passed), but not on the beach. We really like the Atrium Beach Hotel.

I went to a resort in the Dominican Republic, was in the family resort and then got moved over to the adults only resort. Generally speaking there, the food was better at the adults only resort and the place seemed more upscale. The pool area was better at the family one, though there were kids around then atmosphere was more party-like with mostly adults. The adult pool had smaller crowds and a snobbier feel to it. All about the crying creatures

FYI: I have not stayed at this resort, but I've stayed at a nearby resort in Sint Maarten. This is the small island with the infamous airport that is right next to the beach—where the planes land & take off right overhead.
This resort is also very very close to that beach/runway—like about 1000 feet away.
St. Maarten is also unique in that one half of the island is Dutch & the other half is French. This resort is on the Dutch side

My wife & I really enjoyed the island. If you go, I'd recommend renting a car & visiting the French side at least one day during your stay.

All-inclusive sounds great, but the lines are long and I've heard a lot of complaints about the quality. There was no hot water for a bit.

However, this is a good price. There are plenty of places to eat on the island if you rent a car.
