Wow, their checkout system is so designed to get you to spend extra.
THREE attempts to add EZShield for @2.95
A window where the default option is to add EZShield and theres a tiny continue at the bottom.
An attempt to make you pay $8.95 for shipping (Arrives Aug 6 -Aug 13). Wow, 9 dollars for shipping to take 11 days?
The free shipping option arrives Aug 18-Aug 23. (21 days to print and send something)
A bait and switch with a service and handling charge of $2.95 added at the end, and somehow the coupon went away?
OP , could you update the price to $6.9, since thats the minimum you have to pay to get a check?
But seriously, one should not give checkout pages like this your money.
There's always some random scenario where it makes the most sense. Granted, I go through probably 3-5 checks a year (my current checks have an address listed that's 3 addresses ago), but seems like you always need them occasionally to pay a plumber or electrician or whatever. Many have gotten on board with Venmo/CashApp/whatever, but certainly not all.
Rents, as my old-fashioned landlord preferred payment method.

I have not used a paper personal check in almost 10 years.....
where do people still use paper personal checks?

The US government like USCIS. Using a credit card would require you to submit a paper authorization form where you stand a huge risk of it being decline by the bank due to potential fraudulent transactions and the headache that goes with it.
Well, its a good idea to use a paper check when you need a paper trail for additional proof of payment. like paying property taxes, etc.
my county offers a discount when property taxes(real estate and personal vehicle) are paid online. when paying with paper checks in person or mail-in, they charge a $5.49 convenience fee. I guess it costs them money to physically process paper checks?

Same. In the off chance I need to use one, my credit union allows me to send paper checks online via BillPay. Just put in their info online and the CU mails them a check (debited from my checking account) to them via USPS, free of charge to me.
