Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Bought and came same day. Had a bit of trouble installing.

One thing to note is the significant "chin" under the deadbolt. You will need significant clearance between where your deadbolt is and where your door knob is.

The previous owners of our home installed these too close (only about 3 inches apart) and they collided with one another. You will need at least 3.5 inches from center to center, and probably 4.5"+ to comfortable grab the door knob.

Can anyone comment on the usability for a rental cabin out of state? I need something with remote access and don't need the fingerprint scanner.

Hmm, how hard is it to add wifi to these?!
you would just need to buy a bridge separately. Though I would bet you could share bridges across multiple locks? so if you got this one and a fingerprint without bridge they should both be able to connect? I havent tried it though so dont hold me to that but it seems logical that it would.

Is this the one that is vulnerable to being unlocked by a simple rare-earth magnet? The price is good but I'd rather not spend anything on a flawed lock.

Industry standard is 5.5 inches from center of backset hole to center of backset hole (door edge). Best to keep it at standard since some standard door lock sets incorporate both holes.

I'd buy this if it had the closed door sensor. How is everyone dealing with that?
Contact sensor.
I have the Eufy wifi touch deadbolt on 2 of my doors but got irritated when the auto lock would lock at 3 minutes even if door was open. I already had a contact sensor on the door so I just made a routine for my echo to announce when the contact sensor opened and lock the door when the sensor closes.

This would be the best lock out there if they just included a sensor to detect if the door is open or close like August. It seems like they could easily add it with the existing hardware within it:
"If you leave your home and forgot to lock the door it will do so automatically after the time period you set. The gyroscope and geomagnetic chip detect when the door is unlocked and trigger the lock after the set time."

If you own the lock, submit it as feedback and maybe they'll address it in the future.

No fingerprint, no enough smart..
Unless you wipe down your unit each time you use the fingerprint entry the last thing I'd want on a door lock is a fingerprint reader.

Also, after the eufy doorbell debacle there's no way I'm investing any more money into this company

Any advice on what to do if there isn't enough clearance? How did you solve it? (Just received mine and realized I'm running into the exact issue you described, thinking I might have to drill another hole further up.)
