I got the Ryzen 5 version of this with the same fabric cover and everything. I was unsure of the fabric but once I got it in my hands I didn't actually mind it at all and kind of like it. Would I choose it over a non-fabric? Probably not but this is just to say it may not bother you as much as you'd think. I'm only a bit skiddish if I've got it at the kitchen table and the kids are eating because I'm worried about food/liquid splash that you could normally just wipe off.

Fingerprint reader is just super convenient for logging in quickly. I've got no complaints about the screen but I don't think I'm picky about it, either. Just a small warning that you can hit the dim key enough to actually turn the screen OFF and I have no idea why. First time I did it I was just spamming the dimmer to get it to the lowest setting and was looking at something else while doing so. I thought I was gonna have to take it back to the store for a failed display in the first 48 hours but thankfully figured it out.

Only minor complaints are that the screen is 'heavy' in that if I try to move around with it open it sometimes falls back or opens more due to its own weight and a little movement. Also the angle in which I use the laptop is such that I can see the backlight under the keys directly.

Only major complaint is that it sometimes does not wake up. If I leave it and it falls asleep, when I come back and try to use it the thing just doesn't wake up. The keys are lit up but the screen is black. Have researched it a number of times and have seen a few threads with a lot of people complaining of the same but have not figured out how to fix it. Seems to have gotten better since I started just putting the computer into hibernate manually with the power button when I'm done with it instead of letting it go to sleep.

All in all I really like the computer.

Looks awesome to me. Answers to inevitable questions: keyboard is backlit, 300 nits display, 16GB ram soldered and non-upgradable.

Saw this in person at BB and am not a big fan of the fabric texture, but I'm sure it has its market.

I have the Ryzen 5 4650 / 8gb version from last year as the kids' computer, docked to a 27" monitor. It's in dual channel (2x4), so I'm guessing this is in 2x8, which is awesome and will take full advantage of the APU. Seems like a great deal

Damn. I have the 4700u with a 1 TB SSD and I paid about $800.

Really love this laptop. I've been using it about a few months. It's been stellar so far.

Applause Its a Yoga. I like how people question gaming capabilities of this laptop when clearly there isn't gaming in the title.

I've been researching Ryzen chips for a new laptop purchase, and this article about the 5700U pretty much sold me: https://www.notebookcheck.net/The...313.0.html
