I did hear real watch collectors look down on those big watches? Also, before mid (late?) 2000s ppl just didn't wear big watches, biggest is maybe a CASIO G-shock.

39mm is within standard size and considered to be _in_ fashion atm. The larger watches aren't specifically for bigger wrists (since obviously you can just adjust the strap) and were previously just more fashionable but that trend has reversed. Google it.. personally I think it's a nice watch but the brand name is too overstated for my taste.
