Baking soda and vinegar combine to make an inert salt. A foamy inert salt. It does nothing. And no, the foaming action doesn't create more pressure on clogs since the top of the drain is open and is this not a sealed system. The reason why this concoction clears pipes sometimes is because the boiling water makes oily clogs more viscous.

Open carefully. Do not squeeze bottle. Avoid splashing. Clean up spills at once. Keep hands, face, and children away from drains while using Drano Max Gel Clog Remover. Never use a plunger during or after use of Drano Max Gel Clog Remover because Drano Max Gel Clog Remover may still be present if drain did not clear.
