I had physical Fandango gift cards bought from Amazon in 2020 that worked on FandangoNow but are not accepted at and don't work at VUDU. So now unfortunately only useful for going to an actual theater facility.

I have a digital gift card I bought directly from Fandango in 2020 that is accepted by VUDU and can be stored in my account.

Thanks OP. Though the 30% discount only works with one movie. Movie bundles and TV series are not eligible. Though you may be able to combine with the Mastercard promotion here:

Thanks and repped for your reply and being brave enough to try it. So it didn't hurt anything (it didn't take away any of your movies) but merging multiple accounts definitely doesn't work.

I found the same problem. According to the Vudu support group onc

e you migrate your account only FandangoNOW gift cards can be used for digital purchases. If you use your regular Fandango card before you migrate you will be fine. After you merge accounts you are sent to Vudu to complete the purchase and your non-"NOW" gift cards are worthless for any content.

I may have missed some of the small print on this when I accepted merging the accounts, but I think it's a big miss on the part of Vudu.

They stated it's not something they are looking to fix anytime soon.

yeah it's too bad.....I haven't merged yet so was hoping I could still burn some of those on FN, but both the website and app both redirect to VUDU, so not sure how one would make a purchase even if you haven't merged.

Same thing here. I knew I shouldn't have sat on that gift card for so long. What a crappy experience.

Not me 10 plus years almost 150 movies gone and so many tv shows i had supernatural 1-8 and s10 over the years they vanish only s10 left... Same with other shows too from redeem codes. Back then i redeemed and tossed i hate hoarding so they wouldnt help. Ones i did supply they rarely did squat.

Wonder if they'll ever update the Vudu app UI for Android TV/Google TV. It looks like it's from 2010. Fandango was not known for having a great UI, so I am not hopeful.

Yup, and that's going to be the problem going forward. Content that used to be available on cable or DirecTV or Uverse, etc. will be pulled and moved to their premium services.
