I bought 10 Costco Kirkland filters that fits Brita pitchers for about $20. I haven't tried it yet. I'm not here to argue that it is a better deal. Just wondering if people here have tried both and prefers one over the other on taste and how long it lasts.

Pitcher water filters do not typically remove lead or if they do, don't do it terribly well. If your water is legitimately unsafe, this isn't going to fix that

The Costco ones work fine. I don't notice any difference personally.

Hey guys, how does Brita water compare to bottled waters at the grocery stores? I buy 5 cases at a time. The tap water around me is not safe to drink at all so Im wondering if Brita would make it safe even?

It sounds like you may need a actually water filtration system (RO system) installed at home. The main purpose of Brita is to filter out chlorine and some limited type of heavy metal, but does not remove hardness and many more elements in the water.

I haven't tried those but thanks for the heads up - I didn't even know they made them.

Also, actual Brita filters are cheaper per filter this month at Costco than the ones in this deal.

Sounds like you're either in Flint MI or Chernobyl
Regardless... this type of filter is mainly for safe water, to improve the taste and smell.
You need something much more aggressive.

I've used both and can't tell the difference. I have little doubt their both made in a Brita factory. Ditto for the pitchers. They both recommend being changed at 2 months or 40 gallons. YMMV depending on Your local water quality.
