Just got one of these for $199 a month ago and I'm considering buying another at this price. So far I'm very happy with it.

Pros

• Excellent on hard floors, very good on carpets
• Can clean its brush roll by itself
• Will empty its container by itself when full
• Great mapping capabilities
• Filter can trap allergens, dust and pet dander too

Cons

• Making the transition from hard floors to tall rugs could be a bit difficult

Paid $400+ when it was first released. Works well, not as great as the more expensive Roomba self emptying. It usually will get to the dock with time but sometimes it takes a while, the robot is quiet enough and you can toggle the three power modes in the app. Works with Alexa (or mine does) can schedule times through the week. App works. Make sure the cords are picked up (light charge cords). Handles rooms with carpet/hardwood well.
The main con is when it docks and the base vacuum turns on … sounds like a jetliner and last about 20 seconds… Doesn't seem bad but if it's late at night, you have sleeping kids, it might be.
I don't think the mapping "zones" thing has been updated yet but it's been promised in an update.
Also know this is a great maintenance vacuum, would recommend a real vacuum once or twice a month especially with kids and animals.
Overall at this price would buy.

How does this compare to the Roborock S6 deal here? I know this is cheaper but do they match up in terms of features/functionality? Not sure if there is a premium on paying about 180 for this vs 300+ for the s6.

I have no clue as I am new to these robot vacuums and would like to try them out but clueless as to where or how to start

Just picked up one for the ground floor. The Great Dane Puppy of mine tracks in mulch every time he goes out. So hopefully this will help out.

Wow, massive price drop vs a year ago.
At the is price it isn't bad to give it a shot. I bought for 350 a while back and ended up returning. At that time the mapping function was horrible, after weeks of running it never developed a map. The vacuum was very loud compared to roborock circa same date. It wasn't very smart, would go in circles over the same area until battery runs out.

The self emptying based was very good thou.

Hopefully they've improved the software side to make this a ok vacuum.

In for one. Have been in the market for a new vac with some mapping functionality. Basic mapping plus self-empty looks pretty great for the price if LIDAR or other advanced features aren't needed.

I have a S6 , I actually returned this one and swapped for the S6.

The S6 has been a wonderful vacuum. The mopping function is a joke so don't even consider it if you are looking for mopping.

The S6 lidar system is miles ahead the camera based on shark. My shark was never able to generate a map after weeks of running. The software was horrendous. The vacuum was loud as heck.

I think the software might have improved and that would add great value to this vacuum but I cannot confirm if that is the case. The price is great, almost as low as a dumb robot vacuum

I just want to share that the mapping features were pretty crap when I bought one around a year ago. I dealt with it because i got it discounted but it was very temperamental. Not sure if they made any improvements but my hopes were low because they had just announced their new AI version. Anyways, what made me return it was that the side brush motor stopped working which gave a system error code and prevented the machine from running for more than 10 seconds. Seems pretty common if you google the issue. Build quality is bad and feels like cheap plastic. I ended up just getting an i7 when it was on sale and my experience has been much, much better

So I got the iRobot Roomba 981 Robot for 130 last week with the amazon warehouse deal. Should I keep that or get this one?
