With the HP, you get a 1TB HDD but you would need another 4GB stick to make it reasonably useful. Both screens appear basic.
There is a HP 15.6" Ryzen 5 for $429 at Walmart with a better processor, but no backlit keyboard or fingerprint scanner, but same storage and RAM.
I have the older Asus ZenBook which doesn't have the angled base when you open the screen. I agree - it may not last long if it is propped up by tiny rubber feet. Battery life is on par with laptops at this price point.

IIt looks like if you are VIP you can get back 25% in Rewards. If you aren't VIP it looks like you can get back 20% in Rewards.
To do this on a laptop. Go to the Deals section at the top. Then click Rewards Offers. The page will show "20% Back in Rewards" for all members and if you are VIP it will also show "25 Back in Rewards."
Click Shop Now button and it will add the corresponding coupon to your cart.
The first slot is soldered with 4GB RAM. So that can't be upgraded.
The second slot is removable which currently has 4GB RAM. That can be upgraded to up to 16GB RAM.
So in total, the max RAM for this is 20GB.

Looks like computers are excluded from that coupon? I put the coupon and the computer in my cart, and didn't see a message that the coupon does not apply, however, I also didn't see anything indicating what rewards I would get. On the fence because I can't tell if this coupon works with the deal.

I picked this up a few months ago thinking the ram was all soldered. Thanks for this bit of info, gonna max this little guy out now.
I use mine for basic 3d modeling, mobile photo management, and general messing around on the internet. I'm surprised by what this laptop can do. I usually have a half a dozen chrome tabs open, Solidworks or Lightroom and some other smaller applications going at once. The screen is really meh so I really can only cull images, but given that this costs as much as a decent monitor, I really can't complain. My biggest lament is the USB-C being data-only. I knew that going in, but I still wish I could charge with it.
Overall, the chassis doesn't feel as cheap as the price point would suggest, but the keyboard does. I thought I'd hate the weird screen/prop thing, but it's not a big dea in practice.
Minor complaints: sometimes it takes the fingerprint reader 10-20 seconds to get going. I don't know if this is windows or laptop related, but I don't like it. Also, it seems like the micro SD card socket could be deeper, the card sticks out really far and in afraid something might bump it and break the reader/card.
I think it's important to note that cosmetically they are VERY different.
The 2021 model:
- No rubber feet on back of folding hinge (this may have been a durability issue on the 2020 model)
- Chiclet instead of island keys (an improvement IMHO)
- Different color (Navy/Black vs Dark Gray on the F512)
- Colored Enter key (gimmicky but does stand out)
And the big one - maybe…
THE SCREEN
I can confirm the older Vivobooks had awful TN screens that are washed out and distort easily.
The 2021 F513 definitely has a better screen. I cannot figure out if it is IPS or TN, but if it's a TN, it's as good as my Dell Inspiron with a 270Nit IPS. It's not as bright or vivid as my Galaxy Pro 15 but MILES better that the 1080p TN on my Samsung Chromebook 4 plus.
I would like to confirm if the screen is IPS or TN, but when I use it back to back with my other laptops, it strikes me as decently average in a much improved way than before!
