It's too bad it doesn't include 16GB of ram.
I'm not entirely sure if you're trolling or not, but please, explain to me in what world an Intel i7-1165G7 is a "low-end" CPU. Quad core, yes, but not low-end. As I recall, it still trades blows with AMD Ryzen 5xxx series chips depending on the benchmark or workload.
You have any links showing those deals I don't remember it ever drop in below 899 or 799 if I remember correctly

For a low-end 4-core CPU yikes. Thin and light but these spec laptops were running around $500 last black Friday. Hope that thinness is worth the extra $400.

Only trades blows in single core benchmarks. Multicore scores for cpu mark and cinebench reflects almost double the score of the intel because of the 8 cores and efficiency.

Not saying the 1165g7 is low end but the 5800u makes it look relatively low end

the costco is a 15.6" model that uses last year's gram's chassis with updated internals. has a 16:9 screen and only one thunderbolt 3 port. comes with an old school pin charger. has an i5-1135g7 processor and 16gb ram.

this model is the newer 16:10 screen (still FHD, the 16 & 17 get bumped up in resolution). comes with 2 thunderbolt 4 ports and a usb-c charger. has an i7-1165g7 processor and 8 gb ram.

i picked up the 15.6" from costco for my wife and she is complaining about the keyboard (mistypes due to proximity of numpad to enter and backspace keys as well as the spongy feel to it) but is in love with the size and weight of the laptop. torn about getting this instead as i'm unsure if the keyboard's feel will be substantially better and if she'll be ok with the smaller screen size after getting used to the 15.6". also really wish it had 16 GB RAM as the newer models have soldered RAM with no extra slots for expansion.

How is the cooling on your wife's? Being a seemingly fanless model they always make me nervous. We have a laptop that's also fanless and it overheats like crazy doing minimal tasks.

Right you are. Cpu is only ~20% faster than my xps13 w/4k touch I got 3 years ago for $500... Wooooof

Xps13 with 4k for 500. That seems to be an outrageous deal or was it refurb/used?
