This is the issue with these "services" that people are just now realizing. When we weren't sure if it was the end of the world or not, people gladly paid monthly membership fee+service fee+driver tip+higher menu prices. Everyone dumping them so ... give memberships away and keep the revenue coming in. Just call your local restaurants. It's cheaper.

I was only offered the free 1 month, and in small text near the bottom it mentioned how the free month doesn't include the free $10 pickup, even though the nice big fancy text displays it.. I assume that goes for those getting offered free until the end of 2021 as well.

This is cool for those that can use it. I use DoorDash, Uber eats, and another local delivery frequently but everytime I used grub hub it always canceled my order. Was given a $50 gift card and never could even use it.

Not all of the restaurants have jacked up prices. The chains almost always do but, at least where I am, many of the local restaurants have their normal prices. Actually Grubhub seems more to have more regularly priced places than UE or DD in my experience, but that could vary depending on where you are. Some actually deliver for themselves and there is no service fee.

I have a couple of Amex cards that give a dining credit valid only at a handful of places, but Grubhub/Seamless is one of them. I use Grubhub just to use up those monthly credits but never in other situations unless I'm given a promo.

Convenience for the price-insensitive consumer. Every restaurant hates the commissions they have to pay out to these delivery couriers.
