It's hard to trust Amazon nowadays. I wouldn't be surprised these are opened customer returns. Have been getting so many lately with everything.

yo what? these things cost more than a pro controller?
Same price since day 1 for joy cons, you're getting two controllers technically..

I'm honestly impressed Nintendo is actually restocking these.

Instead of making special editions maybe Nintendo could fix the drifting crap. First set I had lasted less than a hundred hours before they started to drift. I wasn't even aware of it being a thing before it had started. Nintendo fanboys should be up in arms but they just keep buying so why would they fix the issue? Frankly the high cost of Joy-con replacements and hardware issues have turned me off of the Switch.
Absolutely agree with you. Nintendo has been offering free repairs of Joy-Cons for a while to try and keep people happy, but that will not last forever. Also, they do not guarantee you will get your specific controller back, which makes a special edition controller purchase more risky.

If it's got a LPRN sticker on it it's a customer return has that happen to me too with a set of wipers I bought as "new"

Best Buy has them too. Just ordered some. Pre-ordered these and forgot to pick them up like a moron so this is my second attempt.

Don't need another set of Joy Cons, but I do like the way these look. Haven't been that impressed with any of the other color options.

From my experience, LPN is for really damaged stuff meant for the Warehouse.

I got 5 of them this past month. All damaged. All with the LPN label, but it doesn't stop there. There were customer returns of things without LPN labels but were obviously used.

I don't know what happened with them. They don't even check if the item is working and has all the parts, so it's worse than just reselling customer returns. Customers can use items for up to 60 days before returning it. It's not new in any sense of the word.

The reason I brought this up is because I bought this like 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped. Meaning they're probably just gonna be sending out returns as they come back to the warehouse.

For anybody curious, it looks like Nintendo may have updated their controllers going forward to eliminate or decrease the risk of Joy Con drift. I haven't personally opened my controller but please check this out. I have been hesitant to purchase new "special edition" joycon's but after seeing this I am not too worried.

Check your local Walmart. Mine had one on shelf. $69.00 regular price
Mine also had a few. Had I known it wasn't this limited, wouldn't have gotten it at GameStop for $80. Oh well. Good to see Nintendo has been keeping up with demand lately on many limited items.

They've been trying to fix it a year ago with new foam pads. Unfortunately that didn't prevent it from drifting sooner or later. So it's not a lack of trying. They probably need to revamp the whole design. But what can they do when there's so much tech in such a small space?

Funny enough, I have 2 pairs I've been rotating in and out for 2 years. Never any drift.

I haven't had good luck with the joy cons. They tend to work for 2-4 months and then the joystick drifts to the right or left (google joy con drift). It's a hardware issue - pretty uncharacteristic of Nintendo. I've been through several sets and replacements. And I have GameCube controllers that still work fine.

The pro controllers are a bit more expensive but you can find them on sale sometimes and I haven't had issues with them.
I had the drift issue on multiple joycons.

Nintendo has free drift repair program- you create a support ticket, then they will send you a shipping label, you send the joycon in, and in a few days they will send you either the repaired joycon or a replacement one. No cost to you for shipping or repair.

My repair experience was good, they shipped replacement joycons for the two I sent in. Took around 8 days including shipping times

Absolutely correct. Every joy con I have has stupid drift in them.

There's a recent fix that 100% solves the problem forever but Nintendo isn't offering it themselves just yet. It's fairly easy to do yourself with minimal technical expertise so long as you're good at not losing tiny screws, you just have to open the left joycon and put a slim square piece of cardboard behind the joystick and voila. Great tutorials on YouTube.
