If you need AirPod, the best deal will be to buy up enough apple gift cards with the target buy $100 get $10 deal, and buy the iPad Air from apple store with the edu pricing at $549 and get a free pair of air pods.

The gift card deal alone will be equivalent of buying the iPad Air at $500 from apple store so you get free AirPod on top of that.

This sale must mean that the new iPad is coming with an improved specs and possibly lower price. I'll wait since lot of users here seem to believe in delay gratification which is admittedly not fun (feel like forever to find the great iPad for the right price)

I'm shocked at the pricing for iPads on the re-sale market. I was looking for 3-4 year old iPads for my son on FB marketplace and people are still selling 5year+ models for close to $200 😳

My guess is we'll see the next processor (A15?) in the new air and we'll see the hard drive bump up to 128 GBs. The current one is hard to recommend. If you want more than 64GBs and go with the 256GB you're now in iPad Pro price level. I'd rather have half the space and pick up the pro for that price.

This definitely means a new iPad Air is just around the corner. I have the iPad Air 3rd gen and it's still running great. This one has the upgraded screen and form factor, I'm sure it will be fine if you're looking to save some money. I will say, I opted for 256gb as I use mine mainly for reading graphic novels and need storage for that.

I bought one of these in June to replace my 2016 iPad Pro and it's been great. So much faster than my old one. I went with 64GB and my old one was 32GB and although mostly full, still ok so 64GB is plenty for what I use the iPad for. Very nice form factor and super thin/light if you don't put it in a case.

I've tried delaying gratification on the new GPUs Nvidia came out with last year's 3XXX series and it's been harder to get one since at regular prices. It's an interesting time period we live in and getting deals like this from Apple may indicate what we may have to expect going forward.

In fact, 7th gen iPad was introduced in Sep 2019, and 8th gen iPad and 4th gen iPad Air (this one) was introduced in Sep 2020. If you go back a few years, iPad is often released in March or in September with iPhones. October is sometimes for MacBooks.
