Yes, built into the mechanics because it is helpful to see the other person's view point for some of the puzzles.

Had a blast playing this game with my girlfriend. Got probably 12 hours out of it doing some mild exploring. Will probably swap characters and have another playthrough.

This was hands down the most fun local co-op game I have ever played. My son and I played it and both loved ever moment of it. So much fun, highly recommended! You can play with a friend too, even if they do not own the game! They can install the free demo version and it'll let them fully play with you online.

The same studio also made A Way Out that came out a few years ago which is also a lot of fun for local co-op but this one is not appropriate for children. It's nonstop bad language and themes.
