If that works for you, then great, but I used to think the same way and it leads to problems, especially when these little items start adding up, and start taking up more and more space

For a different perspective, and to help others, it is a good deal in terms of item cost, but I'd go through maybe a box a year;So 6 boxes would last 6 years. And I don't want to pay $5 (after gift cards) just to hold onto qtips for 6 years.
You said that you go through a box a year. So a family of 4 would go through 4 boxes a year based on your math this is a little over a years worth of qtips for a family of four. Not much storing when it comes to these by the way. They take up 6 inches of space on a shelf and stack but some people like to argue for the sake of arguing. I got injured at work in 2018 so I knew I was going to need surgery so started getting stuff on sales/discounts/etc. Surgery 2019 and through the 2020 year of hell we didn't need much from stores. I learned a prepared home is way better than an unprepared one because it saves time, money, aggravation and give me peace of mind.

1 of my q-tips was not fulfilled (out of stock) when the pickup order was ready… will I lose out on $10 of the gift cards?

Can I pay with target GC that I received from an earlier offer and get another $15 gc?
Yes. You can apply previously earned gift cards to current orders and still qualify for the promotional one.

Like I said, if it works for you, then great. I'm offering my experience. You've given yours, I've given mine, people in this thread can choose to apply whichever works best, or something else

OP is doing stupid math and wrong

A gift card is not cash back.

Retailers do gift cards promotions because some people are stupid like OP and can't do the math right so they think they are getting a better deal than they actually are.

THE CORRECT MATH

$3.39 x 6 packs = $20.34

$3.39 x 4 packs = $13.56 - $13.56 Gift Card = $0

$20.34 / (6 packs + 4 packs) = $2.03 each pack & $1.44 cents left on GC

This is all before tax.
OK...WOW

Who said we anyone was buying 10 packages? And if anyone did wouldn't they get another $5 gift card for buy 3 get $5gc? A gift card is only different from cash back in that it has to be used at Target. A $5 gift is the same as a $5 bill at Target. So if you ever buy anything from Target again in your life they can be considered equal.

Do the math right if you are going to scream about people being stupid.

For someone who is attacking the OP so aggressively, you sure are stupid. The fact that you're trying to shove 10 q-tip boxes into the equation involving 6, your math is already way off, stupid.

Secondly for most people interested in a Target thread, Target gift card is essentially the equivalent of digital cash to them. The same way Amazon credit is the same as cash for most. Hell even a Starbucks gift card is like digital cash to those who goes every other day. Since using the gift card means your money stays in the bank, money saved is just as good as money earned.

Also remember you can redeem any target gc under $10 for cash. So target gc equals cash.

Some SD'ers will appreciate this story. I bought my duplex I live in back in 2002 and the unit I chose didn't have under stairs storage with a door like the other unit. One morning a neighbor who was a retired contractor was over and I asked him what he thought was under my stairs in the large cavity. He said go get your reciprocating saw. Initially we cut a 8"x8" hole to see what was in there with a flashlight. Felt like Geraldo opening Al Capone's vault, lol. Once project was completed, I have a 13 foot long storage area 3' wide and high enough to stand up in at the end with an entry door, carpet and padding on floor, shelving, and I was able to insulate the walls before putting up melamine board which took up little space and basically dry walled the area. Now I use this to house lots of SD stored items like the Q-Tips and light the area with the Harbor Freight hang up light switches with LED's on both sides, another SD find. One of my most productive projects and a huge advantage to have a huge supply of household and cosmetic items on hand when covid created a shortage of these products.
