I learned my lesson. I will not buy Apple gift cards just to get the bonus Target or Best Buy gift cards. There are always better deals out there compared to the Apple store.

Yeah it can close with the education discount and AirPods, but overall deals are better elsewhere.

They also have the previous generation (non M1) for the same price, but at 256GB. Personally, I would opt for the latest model, but if you really need the storage and don't mind that it is the older model, this might be an option for you.

I recently purchased an iPad Air 4th gen 256GB open box and love it. Is it worth $150 more for the 11 inch M1 256GB? What would I really be gaining?

I picked up one of these at release from Costco (I was fortunate to get one of the $100 off $500 coupons back when they were doing that) and I've been loving it. Coming from an iPad Mini 5 the 120Hz screen is amazing, it's (predictably) ridiculously fast and at least in my casual use it never seems to run out of RAM – pretty much every app I've used seems to stay in its previous state indefinitely (it really makes me hate my phone that has to restart apps 5 seconds after I switch away from them).

I just bought an apple refurbished 12.9 (3rd gen) for $629 on the apple store.. No tax as Florida has a tax holiday for back to School. The tax holiday ends today (9th).

Thank you! This is better than what I posted. (OP) I got Target to price match and applied the circle offer for $100 off. With red card $609 out the door. Fantastic deal if you can stack the two. YMMV.

Edit: To replicate deal. I price matched in store to Best Buy. Cashier scanned the iPad with handheld device for verification and adjusted it to BB price. Then I pulled up my wallet in target app where I had the circle offer saved. Cashier scanned wallet barcode. Automatically took another $100 off. Then paid with red card. To get the circle offer you must be a verified student with Target. Can be done in account settings. I did it tonight. Was verified and circle offer instantly showed in app. It's easy. I won't go over specifics in case it violates SD terms. But Google is your friend. Again YMMV.

I'd be hesitant to skip the M1 version. If Apple someday ports in some OS X compatible something it won't work on the A series chips. From a forward compatibility standpoint it really makes sense to pay for the M1 chip or wait a year
