it's not like a car that I can just park in a questionable neighborhood and leave the keys on the front seat

I tell them dude you need replace that
They still keep using it
you eat rice at least once a month. But the cook time is kind of long, almost a hour. Anyone know how about this one?
I researched for my parents Tiger rice cooker, which they've had forever, and the price for a replacement inner pot? may as well just get a new rice cooker.

I have been using a basic Cuisinart rice cooker for years which has worked well but is starting to shut off early. It normally takes about 15 minutes to make 4 cups of rice.
I have used this only once and I was surprised how long it took. I waited for over thirty minutes and it still wasn't done. I didn't use Quick mode because it was short grain rice but I may try quick mode anyways.
It turned out fine but it didn't seem any better than the Cuisinart.
I picked up the JBV-10CU in warehouse this week. It says Made in Japan on the Box and On the back of the rice cooker.
do those super expensive($400 or $500 range) Zojirushi rice cookers have better internal nonstick pots?

Ours makes perfect basmati rice every single time (use 2.4x - 2.6x water to rice ratio, more water for softer rice). If this Tiger is similar, you should be good.
