I don't see how it is obsolete. Not everyone have converted to lightning/USB-C cable. This option is cheaper than going with lightning/USB-C charger and block

I do not use usb-c cables to charge the 4 iPhones in my house because I have built-in USB ports in the outlets. Additionally, all of our cars have usb-a ports for direct CarPlay. Please try not to be so narrow-minded.

I like having some shorties around for travel battery bank kits.
Easier to have 1 foot and a power bank in a bag than 6 feet
Amazon does have lifetime warranty on these so that's nice
While I'm going all usb-c now, most people I know haven't made the switch. I'd wager the majority of people who are not tech minded would appreciate this. People are slow to adapt.
