I know someone who did that once.
Went to BB and online to look for free recycle.
$25 per monitor or television.
Into the dumpster it went.

For those who thumbs down...did you ever look into a roll away dumpster in front of a house with fire or flood damage or remodeling.
Where do you think all that waste goes?
Recycled?
Nope.

Also, just watch any program about the truth in "recycling".
When China turns away our plastic, it gets dumped in the ocean.
When the WM recycle locations get dirty plastic or something that is not recyclable even though it has the symbol (they only recycle soda bottles and similar...easy plastic), the rest goes in the landfill.

Let's not even get started on the future of old solar panels in CA.

Don't take it to BB.
Sell them on eBay!
Plenty of PS1 and PS2 units sold for retro gamers, and they need the cards, and they will pay like $10 or more.
Read above comment about Staples recycling monitors.

While your statements about some of recycling stories are true, I don't think it means that we should always have a distrust in recycling efforts. Some things are done for a reason when things can't be recycled but that doesn't mean that we should stop trying.

It specifies the SKUs (models) that qualify. They include both the original wired model with the blue thumb shelf and the updated wired version that's all black. I'm planning to try to get this offer at my local store as well, ~$70 for the Lightspeed version is a heck of a deal.

Edit: Here's the link to the actual offer terms. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/clp-...7488603859
I think you misread or misunderstood. HitchItch meant he tried buying the wired version but the coupon only applies to the wireless version. I think.

Anyhow, rep who helped me redeem the Logitech recycling promo told me that the one time use coupons from trade in promos only apply to regular price items.

I got the Logitech G502 coupon and it is one time use in store only. I checked my receipt and the g502 wireless was on sale for $119.99 (on sale $30 off) and the coupon only took off an additional $20.

Might try to go to a different location and get and adjustment because the coupon doesn't mention that it doesn't stack. YMMV but this was my experience.

If that's the case then I did misunderstand. That's too bad about the way the credit is applied, but $100 is still a pretty good price for the Lightspeed 502.

What is an eligible storage device ?
Any old shed or filing cabinet should be fine. I have an armoire I'm hoping to dispose of. I hope they accept it.

Funny. I tried that, and the recycling center advised me my e-junk was garbage, and would cost them far more to put it in their dumpster than to throw it away myself.
Then it is not an e-recycling center. Try Staples.

Did you receive a physical coupon that could be used at a later time? And did you know if the Jan 2023 expiration was listed on it? I'd like to recycle a drive now and get a coupon to use when I want to pull the trigger.

Umm.. the slickDeals.. way, I guess?
Nope, not even close; the slickdeals way is waste a tank of gas driving around for a non-existent YMMV deal.

has anyone successfully tried this yet? my local Best Buy did not have this promo active at their store, and basically said they'd email me if they could find it later.
This. They need to have directions in the linked page for the employees to actually do the deal. Otherwise good luck finding any who can figure it out.
There needs to be a wiki posted once any employee can describe to one of us what they had to do to find it.

I remember when you could recycle trash laptops and receive $50 in store credit or some sh*t like that. This 15% off discount is laughable, lulz
I used that deal at BestBuy a few times to buy XBox controllers. Sir, your computer is only worth $12 but here's your $50 for using the deal.

They don't list that item (fluorescent bulbs) as an option.
Yes they do.
Actually they're listed under the 'Hazardous' category, but use the main search page (home page) and begin to enter fluor.... and 2 options for fluorescent light bulbs pop up in the drop-down list. Both compact fluorescent bulbs and tube-type also. See attached pic/screenshot.
Then just enter your zip code.
That's how I found 3 recycling centers near me that take fluorescent bulbs.

Quote from MinhTrinh :
On a completely different topic, anyone know where to recycle fluorescent light? Home Depot used to take them but they stopped it recently. Thanks
Just in case you also thought fluorescents weren't listed on the RecycleNation site, see this post.

For bestbuy it has to be a moneymaker before i buy anything there. Overpriced.

Local store wants $35 to recycle a monitor. Ridiculous. They should pay $35
