Are these receivers still backordered? Can you keep the speakers but cancel the receiver? If yes, how much is the refund for the receiver?
As of now the Pioneer is still back ordered. I could cancel the receiver and get like $350 credit. I happen to have extra cash rn so I got a Marantz receiver and will sell the Pioneer when I get it and that will help subsidize the more expensive Marantz.

I'd be interested in this info too, if anyone knows.
I replied to OP but just so you know, the refund for the receiver is like $350 so not too great. I picked up a different receiver in the meantime and I plan on selling the pioneer when it shows up unless the universe has suffered heat death by then.

Talked to Adorama, bought just the receiver and two sound towers for 1050 + Taxes. (I live in an apartment, so the dual subs, bookshelves and center channel speaker make no sense at this time). Planning to buy a SPL-120 sub-woofer later.
Which receiver did you get? also did they give you break-up of prices for the tower and the receiver? because I am interested in just two towers and 1 sub-woofer (I have/had several Klipsch speakers, hence just need two towers and 1 sub-woofer for a different room)

Because lowest I have seen for RP-8000F is $390; so you got a good deal considering 2X tower = $780 making the receiver $270.

I just bought two so I can make one set I wanted, have some extra parts in myrtle point oregon when I'm done putting mine together.

Will I benefit by using two rp8000f as front and two rp8000f as rears instead of bookshelf rears?

I'd like to have full range speakers all around in quad stereo when possible, if the speakers don't fight each other to cancel the others bass this way.

It depends on your seating and if your ears have a direct line of sight to all the woofers/tweeters.

If not the sound will be obstructed.

22' x 14' room, two doors close it off, 9' ceiling
I'll set it up however the best sound requires. What can I make from this, with all these speakers, ideally?

I can sell the 4 klipsch subs and buy a svs, or whatever.

Use a mix of all 2 sets for atmos?

I'm single, at least atm so nobody can bitch at the room being taken over.

You are going to get a lot of opposing opinions on this, here is mine:

If you have the flexibility of that whole layout/environment I would suggest looking at these suggested layouts and see which might work best for your layout.

If you want the maximum out of your setup, placement plays a key role.
The more you can follow them the better.
The quality of your speakers is another one, so try not to skimp on any. If you have to, just get them when you can, start with the LCR's.

As far as atmos in my experience two pairs properly placed works best most of the time.

What speakers are good quality to you no one can answer but you will get a lot of people telling which they like.
The only way for you to actually know is listen for yourself.

If you like your 4 subs just use them, one less thing to buy.

I got the Onkyo receiver. The rep clearly told me that it is on back order and I will have to wait until November 2nd week to get it. That's fine by me.
