I also checked some flights. Flight to is bearable, very short layover options, but the return flights seem to have muuuuch longer layover.

"Do not travel to Maldives due to COVID-19. Exercise increased caution in Maldives due to terrorism."

Thats enough for me... lol. There are thousands of places to travel to in this world... Many that aren't a huge risk for Covid or Terrorism.

I'm exhausted just thinking about the travel to get there and back. Then stay in some tourist trap hotel.

You probably want to leave US soil to understand which part of the world is falling apart. You will either return with a higher appreciation or a happy realization. Win, in either case.

Not sure how high end this resort is, booked a similar all inclusive package 15 nights for around 6K for 3 ppl in a different resort.
Also flights from US costs around 1500RT with 1 stop through Middle East or Europe

From Raleigh (my local) $733 I'd rather do europe and if just staying at a beach don't think its worth it unless your already in asia or europe.

It's not a 5 Star Resort it's only 4 Stars so the price isn't good at all.

Just got back from the St. Regis in Bora Bora for a lot more than this--how does it compare? (from someone who's been to both, please).

Maybe taking into consideration the context of current events would make sense to you?

The world will be here tomorrow. The place you want to travel to will be here tomorrow. If it's not then do you really need to be there when it collapses? Lol.

Maldives can wait. No need to try and convince someone now is the time to go.
