This includes the domestic flight from Male to Kooddoo which is normally not included in typical Maldives rates. Domestic flights (typically seaplanes but in this case normal airport) are very pricey - round trip to Kooddoo if charged separately is $550 per person.

Maybe taking into consideration the context of current events would make sense to you?

The world will be here tomorrow. The place you want to travel to will be here tomorrow. If it's not then do you really need to be there when it collapses? Lol.

Maldives can wait. No need to try and convince someone now is the time to go.
This is pretty bad advice considering people can die at any moment.

That's a pretty stressed out way to live your life without any future because of no plans for one. Makes living life 1/4 of a mile at a time seem leisurely.

A much higher chance of dying there than here. https://travel.state.gov/content/...isory.html

It also looks like it doesn't include transportation (vehicle) to get around, or activities/excursions unless you book the 9-day.

Just a dose of reality. You won't need a car. The islands are small.

I was at the local island Dhigurah last week. It was wonderful. Some days were stormy, yes, but it was great. We kayaked out to the manta show and we're not disappointed. Mantas swimming in formation. on my own later I saw a giant clam while snorkeling in 2-4 feet of water.

Locals were super friendly, tourists were few. Go. Just go. visit a place where public places are raked by hand every day.. A couple times a. day.

They want you there. They're desperate.

Lesson mode: islands are separated into Resorts and Local Islands. On local islands they have Guest Houses at very low prices. Arrange with the Guest House to transfer you to and from Kudhddoo. They're eager. Choose one on the beach. We choose ones facing west for the sunset show.. (No ethanol or bikinis on local islands.). At Dihangethi we paid $400 for 10 dives but those were Covid rates. Island Scuba.

Go to the resort first, then the local island because COVID.

Some recommendations people thinking of getting this deal.
  • This location is right next to the airport with 2 to 3 flights a day (Maldivian Air has random schedule and resort usually confirm flight a day before departure) and not as secluded .
  • Strongly recommend to stay a night at Male(Hulhumale) if you're arriving late.in the afternoon.
  • Due to unpredictable schedule of domestic flight, it is recommended to book a late evening international flight.(Lounge access for Priority Pass member)
  • Would recommend spending extra and stay at the nearby newer Pullman resort.

Thats enough for me... lol. There are thousands of places to travel to in this world... Many that aren't a huge risk for Covid or Terrorism.
The deal says it's good to be used until dec 2022. By then maybe things also settles down a bit in that area?

Hard to say. We're in month 8 of a year people said would be largely over.... let's be realistic though. The people in this thread trying to convince folks NOW is the best time to go (ignoring a terrorist threat level 4 warning) are likely, highly likely the same mask less a-holes who routinely give unhealthy advice because of their free-dumbs.

There is no reason to travel there for the time being. Again, covid is one thing. Chance of terrorism? Lol... Maldives isn't the only place in the world you can travel to.

Try Agoda, they usually have good all inclusive rates
We dove at Alimatha Jetty. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Nurse Sharks are the ocean's Labrador Retrievers. If you sit on the floor, they'll come sit with you. It was an incredible experience.

Not sure about Agoda though. The website seemed very much bait-and-switch and we often saw promised rates snatched away at the last moment. As a slickdealer I was enthusiastic but disappointed.

Agoda has hope. Rocket Travel, through T-Mobile, they're Satan. I curse Rocket Travel.

Eh, you could get a third shot if you're really worried. But terrorism? Harddd pass.
