I remember making custom maps for AOE in 1994

While I recommend the AoE 1, 2, and 3 DE's for the playability, I recommend them for under a few dollars each. The reason is that because a couple of the titles, like AoE 2, have been pushed to roll out new DLC that has not existed before, killing off the concept of 'Definitive Edition'. So I'd recommend the cheap price as an opportunity to jump on because of that.

Also, because these are overhauled from games released 15-25 years ago, there are some bugs to be had. Again, I recommend the price drop for a jumping point on the series.

eh... bought the AoE II HD and AoE III collection not too long ago when on sale. I had played them a lot when first came out. Only I found a number of issues. Most annoying for me, the 'AI' in III had been tweaked and what was a slightly challenging game on regular settings had become a near slaughter every time. Really @#$^@ annoying. Only way to play it was to drop settings to easy. From someone that never plays anything on Easy, that's just an insult.
Makes me rather hesitant to drop more $ for other AOE re-releases, especially when they're asking almost $10 for a revamped old game with some extra content.

Out of all the video game companies and games being remastered I'm actually floored people feel this way about AoE2: DE because it was a complete overhaul of the graphics engine for this game for twenty dollars with a ton of Quality of Life improvements and a much improved online service.

Yes there's new DLC, but ITS NEW DLC not old content that was recycled.

Eneba is very difficult to get a refund from. Even using PayPal I have spent almost two weeks providing every screenshot and email showing the key won't activate. I have never had this issue with CD Keys so buyer beware.
