I know that cooking rice isn't necessarily hard on a stove but I love being able to "set and forget" with the rice cooker. The keep warm feature is always great as well. Thanks for posting! I needed a bigger rice cooker.
Is this much different that cooking rice in an instant pot pressure cooker?

A rice cooker is an essential kitchen gadget for anyone who has the space to store it. It simplifies the process of cooking any grains and guarantees you always get good results with no effort. I use mine weekly and it's only occasionally for rice.

I don't have this one, and if personally look for one that can also be a slow cooker. That's just one less gadget you will need.

But this is a decent price.

I like the ones with a "glass lid" That way I can see when the water is not boiling, helps prevent the "newbie" from rice sticking or "burned" on the bottom Peace

I have had this cooker for several years now & it makes the best rice I've ever had. I add a little bit of coconut oil to the water and the rice comes out better than any restaurant. It's super easy to use.

I've used a handful of electric rice cookers and have never burned rice or had it stick in a non stick pot even when the warming function is on for hours. But I think you can't get any more newbie than using an electric rice cooker. It's pretty much set it and forget it. Only thing to really look out for is placing the proper amount of water or liquid.

Is this size overkill if I only do 2 or 3 cups of rice at a time? Also is it faster than stove top cooking?

Yea 20 cups seems like a crazy amount. 3 cups would last us a week or two already lol. But 20 cups? Dayum

I heard the Japanese models and brands are the ones to get if you have bigger family and or eat a lot rice and want to hold it for a couple of days is this true. I assume this is for one and done cooking. But from a quality cooking perspective is it in the same league?

I was wondering the same thing.
This looks identical to my Instant Pot.

I have used both and rice comes out the same. I don't have a rice cooker anymore. I use the instant pot.

This is my dilemma... I supposed it could come in handy if I'm making something in the instant pot and at the same time want to make rice on the side, but I really do try to practice minimalism with my kitchen tools
