Fwiw, the deal description isn't quite accurate. The RPi400 and RPi4 are different devices. The RPi400 has a different board layout and is bound to the keyboard.

It's still a decent deal if this is what you're looking for. Just don't want anybody expecting one thing and getting something different.

The pics only show they Keybard part, but it says "Kit" and the listed price is the price of the bundle that includes the power supply, mouse, HDMI cable and book, so if they just ship me the keyboard piece, I'll be contacting them.

Then start contacting them now.
This is the Amazon listing with exactly the same title, item number, and photos. [amazon.com] Its just the Keyboard/computer with no accessories. Price history on it varies from $89-$119.

This is a great price. I'm tempted to buy two. Maybe they are clearing house in order to make room for Pi 5's.

Folks just buy some old SFF optiplex if you are looking for power at that price range. I think raspberry pi is for hobbyists and tweakers who like to fiddle with their robotic and other DIY projects.

Description matches B08MYVQW1S. So just the case and rpi.
One of the Q&A in the Amazon listing also says it is just the keyboard with integrated Pi. Seems the description of the listing should say Unit rather than Kit. The unit sells for $70 elsewhere.

Good call. That listing is pretty sus if they only give you the keyboard unit and then they resell the other components separately which should be mouse, power supply, micro HDMI to HDMI cable, and SD card preloaded with Raspberry Pi OS.

Technically it's a kit. The RPI usually sells with just the board. You'll probably need to buy a power adapter and micro SD card for this for it to be functional.

Can I set up a pi hole on this? I assume I'd still need an SD card. TIA

It has some other use-cases but they're probably not very mainstream. Pi's are really good for hosting small services that you might not want in a relatively big and power hungry "regular" PC for. Stuff like Pi-Hole (DNS), monitoring, seednode, etc.

This particular model wouldn't really be good for the above as the keyboard form factor doesn't make a lot of sense for compact micro-services servers. Only a few use-cases I can think for this including giving to kid or if you really need an all in on travel device for going place to place and plugging into a monitor. Might be good for a mobile Kali linux pen testing kit or to run some troubleshooting from.

Yes, you can but it's overkill hardware for a simple task. People get by with a pi zero which is on the opposite end of the specs. I run mine on a pi 1 just great.

Note that if this is really the US version, as listed, the photos are wrong about the layout. The US version has the rectangular Enter key, not the rotated L-shaped one (which I hate). You can check the Product Breif to confirm this.
https://datasheets.raspberrypi.or...-brief.pdf

Plus, the real list price of just the keyboard if $70. I'll probably still bite.

Also, by my understanding, all rpi400 come with the C0 stepping for the processor (really SoC), which has better thermals at higher clock speeds. Some rpi4 boards are coming with the C0 stepping now too, but you can't be sure until you get it - we got a batch at work and we decided we didn't need to add a heatsink anymore.

Looks like Amazon/Woot have completely screwed up here. The RPi400 is available in 2 option, as a "Unit" with an RRP of $70 which is just the keyboard, or as a "Kit" which includes Power Supply, SD Card, HDMI cable, etc, with an RRP of $100.

Woot (and Amazon) are calling this the "Kit", and showing an RRP of $100, but fairly clearly based on the comments from the Amazon link someone posted above it's actually just the "Unit". Given Woot doesn't list the extras, I'd be fairly sure if you order this you're going also get the "Unit" and not the "Kit".

So this is actually $10 off list price, not $40 as stated. That said, given these can be hard to find, that still might be a good deal for some...
