Isn't the hood mainly for outdoor light rejection and bump protection? Indoors or in darker settings I like to take the hood off cause it allows a bit more light to enter the lens when needed.

Unless you're talking recorded paid placement in a sponsored video. Obviously you're not removing the YouTuber speaking about a product. Otherwise yes.

I bought his online course on urlhasbeenblocked for $10 a few years back. It's a great course, especially for new photographers. I recommend it. The urlhasbeenblocked course has no commercials or ads. And sometimes they offer the course (and others) for free or $0.99 on urlhasbeenblocked.
