I find it interesting how many times this deal gets posted. And then never the comment that by doing it you might/have to agree to let the company change your settings at the most inopportune times; i.e. when you are home.
If you get one of these you should setup a firewall rule to keep it from having access outside of your home network. Wifi thermostats are great, but giving the power company access to them is not.
"Popular deal" with 4 TU and 3 suspicious sounding comments from either brand new or barely used accounts lol

I installed this last year and has worked good for heat settings but this summer even making adjustments with cycle times it turns on and off way to soon for me. Needs to run longer to remove humidity. Anyone else with this issue.

Rip off in California. They sign you up for a program and there is a monthly charge.

We have wto Wifi thermostats and when I check the logs I see that they sometimes will turn the A/C down 2-degrees. If it weren't for the log, I'd never know it. I'd be mad (and sweaty) if they dropped it 10-degrees on me.

"Room temperature" has nothing to do with this but since you brought it up, the Department of Energy states the following:

"In the summer, you can follow the same strategy with central air conditioning by keeping your house warmer than normal when you are away, and setting the thermostat to 78°F (26°C) only when you are at home and need cooling."

https://www.energy.gov/energysaver/thermostats

Now, imo, 78 is far too warm in the summer for indoor temps.

Also, a survey was taken a couple of years ago asking people what they typically set their thermostats to. You are outside the range.

70-75 Degrees is the Most Popular Average Indoor Temp Year-round
Half of the respondents set their thermostats between 70-75 degrees during the Summer. Nearly 20% of consumers set their thermostats between 66-70 degrees.

In the winter, nearly half (45%) of respondents set their heater to a temperature between 70-75 degrees.

https://www.stansac.com/what-temp...%20degrees [stansac.com].

I cannot even begin to imagine what your electric bill has to be with a 68 degree summer setting. In winter, that would be ok (I usually set at 70-72) but to each his/her own. lol

As far as you stating you don't know anyone who sets theirs above 72...the AVERAGE is above your claim.
We set our thermostat to 62 year round. We live in a one bedroom apartment in Southern California and our electrical bill with a medical discount and the CARE program is $435/month in the summer time. We have to keep it cold due to medical issues, but that will pay the mortgage in some states.

Are you talking about Ohmconnect? I've had it for a while and they don't charge monthly fees or anything like that.

Looking for a smart thermostat for our new place. I bought an Ecobee3 years ago for our last place and regret not taking it with me... Frown

Currently in an apartment where we have the data/usage being sent to my own Ohmconnect account. Would my wife be able to sign up for a new account with the utility/provider (SDGE) and then also sign up for Ohmconnect and connect the account to get the smart thermostat? The sellers are currently renting back but we should have the keys and full access by 10/2.
