This is a good price on a fantastic item. Many more people should be using USB dynamic microphones (for videoconferencing etc), and this is one of just a few good, affordable models.

Have the Q2U and love it. Great price and great product. I use it with a Brio camera and a cheap ring light and get compliments all the time on my setup for online meetings. Bad audio can really put you at a disadvantage in big zoom/teams calls.

This might be a stretch, but how is this for a singing microphone? My sibling wasn't happy with the Blue Yeti, is this better?

You might like this one a lot more for singing. It's dynamic so it's going to have that "stage-like" audio signature. Great option for those who aren't sound proofing their office into a home studio.

Site says it's the SAQ2U model. Is it any different than the Q2U? The only thing I see is the volume buttons at the bottom of the mic look different.

I don't have this mic but it looks like the only other thing I would recommend would be a holder of some sort. The small tripod stand it comes with would need to be positioned right in front of your keyboard so it could pick up your voice.

My online teaching kit is described here [kit.co]. As previous reply suggested, the main other thing you'd want on the audio side is just a boom arm to let you work comfortably with a mic near your mouth (and then swing out of the way when it's not in use).

The yeti is a condenser microphone
It is more sensitive and picks up more sound than dynamic mics do (the mic here is dynamic). This might make the audio sound more airy, even tinny or shrill depending on the mic and placement.

I'm not sure what his vocal style is but he should make sure to be about 12" away from the mic and use a pop filter with the yeti.

With dynamics you get a little more bass as you get closer to the mic (proximity effect). I like them for vocals. It's easier to get a usable sound whereas condensers require a little more messing around.

That being said. It's nice to have both types to have more options.

I have this Samson connected to a Behringer U-phoria UMC22 audio interface. I frequently get compliments on the "studio audio quality" when streaming my favorite PC games on twitch.

I highly recommend this mic.
