If anyone is wondering - I own these and love them. I was part of their kickstarter. I also have a hub.

The app itself can be a little iffy sometimes, but using it through Alexa and SmartThings is a lot more reliable. My plants love that they get sunshine before I'm awake, and I love that the curtains close automagically at sunset. It helps the house look like someone's home if I'm not, and I know if I was more mindful, I could regulate the temperature in my house better. I don't currently have my solar panel hooked up to it, but it took months before the battery charge wore down. Then, it was just an overnight charge up for each and it was all back to being fine.

There was some difficulty in set up, I won't lie about that. I had a pair of curtains that opened and closed together with a string? It didn't really like the string, and since I was automating the curtains, I just took the string out. There was also a problem with the rod being telescopic, and so we finagled a sort of gradual from the skinny half to the larger one with tape. We used clear packing tape, so you can't tell. I don't have more curtains, but I want more anyways.

I also have these.

I thought they would be gimmicky, but honestly they're one of my favorite home automation purchases so far. It's really awesome to have my bedroom curtains open automatically in the morning to wake me up, and to have the curtains on the street-level windows open and close with sunrise and sunset. I can also close my curtains from anywhere in the house if my dog starts barking at pedestrians.

I don't have the solar charger (my curtains are sheer and hung too high to position the solar charger properly) so I can't speak to that, but honestly I've only had to charge them once since I got them about 8 months ago (maybe longer?).

Build quality is rock solid. The app is meh, but as another poster mentioned it works very well with voice assistants.

Surprisingly useful product. Just bought 8 more for the rest of the curtains.

Been searching for ceiling tracks that will work with the U rail model. Anyone know of any that would work with it?

I've got a couple of their button pushers and the remote. I like all three. The buttons actually turn off and on ceiling fans for me, which has been a huge help in my never-ending quest to pay the utility companies less money.

I've yet to find a retrofit automation solution for regular horizontal blinds. I'm still looking, something reasonable has to show up at some point.

OMG I want two at least. I have a reeded curtain rod- - anyone had success?

I figure at the very least, it'll piss my wife off-- another "smart" thing that doesn't work until I fiddle with it for 30 minutes. Then stops working again when she goes to use it.

Is the "smart hub" required for smarthome integration (Alexa etc)?

Yes, it is required. I had to purchase this to connect with Alexa:

Gotta love it.
Just noobs highly touting a product.
I'm fairly sure these are bots built in house with a review AI. Especially given it's dashboard placement.

Very shill. I just lurk in hot deals and hope for timing and luck.

Over prime day, 2 motors and the hub were $160-$170 if I remember correctly (on their own website). So this only a good deal for someone that only needs one and doesn't need the hub.
