I am using them in my $398 Walmart HP and can enable xmp with Ryzen master

Got it for I think $63 bucks from amazon but no GC

decent price considering the current market, especially if you need something else from newegg with the extra $15. it's not $55, but spending $70(+) for $85(+) of stuff from newegg.

It's about a 10 percent increase in performance on average from 2400 to 3200

No, that cpu is so old you would be better off putting anything you might spend on it towards a new setup instead.

No the 10% performance increase someone quoted seems weird. Also for a 1st gen ryzen I would be more concerned at compatibility. Not worth it at all especially if you are gaming.

no, it's not. pretty much any performance deficiencies you see won't be remedied by a 800mhz upgrade in memory speed. like KapnKrunch said, you're better off saving the money for your next build.

I'd upgrade your processor to a 3300x ($120-130) assuming your motherboard can handle it after a bios update. Even then, it would benefit from a higher ram speed.

Thanks for all the responses. Yeah, waiting and saving my doubloons until it's reasonable to build again.

I know GPU is the obvious barrier, but doesn't make sense to put together a system with a new CPU when all I have is a 1060.
