To anyone subscribing to this shit, make sure to turn off auto renewal. I paid $64 yesterday for a renewal and I haven't used ps plus in 11 months. And to top it off, this is the 3rd time I have done this mistake. I keep turning it off and then renew one of the years to play few months only to get screwed at the end of the year with auto renewal. I just wish there was a way to Sue these ppl to oblivion for these practices.
just use a one-year card/code or generate a virtual one-time-use cc#
good luck suing Sony for willingly signing up for their subscription services and being billed for them

yeah it's pretty scummy that they turn on auto renewal automatically
My friends online always ask me to play multiplayer with them but I always tell them, I'll only get Plus if its on sale because money is tight right now. Nows my chance! Haha! Thx op!

I believe even if you enter a code (from 3rd party seller), they'll automatically turn on auto-renewal too.
Based on this, it makes sense to turn off auto renew and let it lapse. Then wait for a deal like this
I always use the 1 year PS+ digital code, it has been less than $30 multiple times in past few months. Those codes work with existing membership and can stack up many years.

I don't see it's an issue if there is option to turn off automatic renewal. There are too many companies you can sue if you want to.
The simplest solution is to just buy a code, or use one time credit card for membership if you can't click to turn off auto renewal.

I always use the code and I don't think I've changed any settings (I could be wrong) and Auto Renew is off.

$2.50 a month for three free games a month is pretty slick even if they're not your favorites.
Also good timing with the current Games Under sale on PSN. Some titles get an extra discount for Plus members.
