I bought an open box 65 lg oled few years back at beat buy. Same price and no problem with burn in sinc eit literally has options to prevent it.

I bought an open unit at Best Buy for $1633 a few months ago along with the 5 year Geek squad warranty

A refurb done by someone other than the manufacturer is only as good as the reputation of the company doing the refurb. Amazon is not trustworthy. Many items sold by Amazon as "new" are in fact returned and repackaged. When you sign up for Prime they promised 2-day shipping on most Prime items sold and shipped by Amazon BUT now ALL of those items are ALL shipped by UPS ground and don't even ship for 2 or 3 days. If you complain to Amazon "customer service" — they tell you that is just the way it is and if you don't like it then you can cancel Prime. In other words, Amazon has no issue with lying to you and with not keeping its agreements.

It's a gamble.
Some people have gotten lucky and got a barely used TV with less than 10 hrs.
Others got heavily used display models but made sure to buy a warranty. Then requested for the panels to be replaced.

Plastic film was even on the back and sides of the TV

I would say it was bought and returned
It had been pulled out of the box...but someone put it right back in the same way it was
