For travelers, one thing to consider is "weak" overused outlets that don't hold the prongs tightly. This is 9.5 ounces. I have an Anker two port which is 5.3 ounces that pulls out of some places. It's frustrating to wake up in the morning and find out that an hour after going to bed the blocks weight pulled out of the outlet just enough to not make contact or charge anything. For these types of scenarios I got one with a short cable, but even a little 1 foot angled extension cord would go a long way. Probably not an issue you'd have in newer building/home. Seems like a great unit, especially for the price, haven't seen anything come close to that.

I know exactly what you mean. This is especially true for many airplane outlets. This is why I travel with a 1 foot extension cord as well.

The extension cord plug seats firmly into the socket and the adapter is then connected on the other end. Yes this adds a physical footprint but at least you don't have to deal with the adapter becoming unplugged every few minutes (pain in the a$$).

Plugged my almost dead phone in at CDG, then fell asleep for a while only to find my wart fell from the outlet. I'm thinking a two foot cable with a downward facing cord would solve those issues. I fear 1ft might be to short sometimes.

I bought a 65w charger from Monoprice. it died within a couple of months and they would not honor the warranty because they said they didn't sell that item anymore. I asked for something similar and all they offered me was store credit (I bought it on sale, so I wouldn't be able to buy a similar charger). Then they never even gave me the store credit.

Wow. I guess they've really gone downhill. They used to be known for quality at an affordable price. And they had decent customer service.

Get a 3 prong to 2 prong convertor for a dollar. Prongs are generally folded metal loops. Take a knife and get in between the metal. The wider prong will hold on tight to those loose sockets. I saw it on the tube.

I think a bigger issue is that the USB-C PD standard is proving underpowered for this style of need. i.e. charging something at 100W (my Dell OEM charger is 130W) *and* a 20W iPhone (also my need) is beyond what's actually possible given the USB-C PD spec. But I share the above sentiment--would love to see something here that could let me charge everything.

All that said, in for 1 on the 4-port one. Considered getting the single-port 100W one because my use case is really my Dell laptop. But the 100W 1-port one looks about the same size so why not have the flexibility to get my iPhone or tablet on there.

for a pure charger that's not the issue. They can basically stick two chargers together. It just gets big.

But if you're plan was to charge a powerful laptop, and the charge devices from that laptop at the same time, then the PD spec is limiting.

Yes. I believe the older MacBook Pro models draw about 60 W. The newer ones draw 87 W. Either way, a 100 W charger will make plenty of current available for your machine to draw from. This would be overkill for an iPhone 11 or 12 which draw 18 to 20 W respectively, but could certainly still be used (devices aren't going to draw more than they are designed to).
