Btw is this the same price at the warehouse? I know sometimes certain thing on Costco online cost slightly more than the warehouse price.

Yes, same price. But no guarantee your local warehouse has it. I see it in store in the past two months, but it was gone last weekend

I dont think its a Mini 3, its like a more consumer version (consumier?) version of the mini, not a successor.
Either way, you have a 90 day return policy at costco. so its still not a bad buy, assuming they DO release a new version.

I think you are referring to the DJI Mini SE, which has been out for a while now, and retails for $299.

The Mini 3 has been leaked and details (including flight/feature demo videos) have been out there.

Dumb Question for the owners !!
Can the 4K camera be used standalone like an Action Camera using another gimbal or is it fixed in the drone body?

I was looking at goPro but if this could be Aerial and Land https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...lies/smile.gif
It's attached to the drone, can't be removed. I mean, you could walk around with the drone in your hand and pretend its a camera if you want.

But it's only $40 off, not a huge discount. Unless MSRP is even more.

The drone itself is $449 on BB and Amazon

Kind of Stupid question... If I'm in a no-fly zone does it really mean no fly? That means I can't even use the drone to inspect my own roof? Or fly at room by room indoors? Or within 10 ft of the ground on my property?

New to drones and this seems like a good starter one. Question: how hard is it to fly one of these as a beginner and not lose it? I'll be flying mine from my backyard which is on top of a hill and could easily get lost irretrievably.

Should I wait until they sell ones with first person POV goggles for easier flight? I never flew my RC airplane because I was afraid that I'd lose track of the plane's flight direction. Same here.

These aren't like RC planes which keep moving whether you input control or not. You press up, it moves up, you let go, it hovers in place. Wide margin of error to decide the the next input.

If you lose orientation, press return to home and it comes right back.

No fly zone means just that: it's a no fly zone.

Is this worth it over the fly more combo?

I guess the fly more combo nets you:

DJI Mavic Mini 2 Intelligent Flight Battery × 2
Two-Way Charging Hub ×1
Spare Propellers (Pair) ×3

Need to figure out if the cost of those is more or less than $200

Edit: maybe it's only 1 extra battery? Unclear as the fly more combo comes with 3 batteries and this one says it includes an extra battery. So is that 2 with this and 3 with fly more then?

I have 3 batteries and rarely use all 3 at one time. 2 is plenty

I had to return my dji mini2 from Costco due the nfz. I bought fimi x8 mini. Felt the similar flying experience. I know I may break law flying it in my backyard low attitude <30m. But with fimi x8 mini, at least I can do it. With dji mini2, I could not take off.

My buddy's house is near to a juvenile detention facility and I started up my drone and it took off a few feet into the air and then immediately dropped down and landed so assuming where you are at is the same it won't let you fly at all. It took me by surprise when that happened.

If the drone has GPS signal and it knows where it is and you are in a no-fly zone, it will not take off. The props won't even spin.

If you are indoors and the drone does not have GPS signal, you can fly it. Just don't go near windows.

Yep from my understanding

You cannot fly a drone anywhere within 15 miles of DCA which covers a lot of area (all of DC, inside the Betlway and a bit beyond).

Additionally, there are further restrictions from 15 to 30 miles from DCA.

https://www.faa.gov/uas/resources...e_zone/dc/

It's a tough place to own a drone as you'll always have to travel to use it.
I live in the 15-30 mile area from DCA (3 miles from Dulles, but not in the flight path). I can fly my DJI mini 2 up to 284ft where my house is. The drone won't go any higher and will tell you that it has reached its maximum allowed altitude. I'm within an authorization zone so I have to submit a LAANC request each time I fly. It's an easy process that takes 1 minute using your smartphone (using the ALoft app). The further I go away from Dulles, the higher I can fly.
