The Pixel 2XL lacks band 71 which is important for Tmobile network users. Even though it will function on that network this phone is considered obsolete for Tmo.

The deal was on a refurbed phone mis-advertised as new. And yes, $79 after complaining.
They have now updated listing to "reconditioned" but it's OOS, so none of this really matters.

All I know is that when I had the pixel 2 XL it was amazing right up until the very last Google update once I installed the update it bricked the phone Google then let me trade it in for a pixel 3 so just putting it out there official updates might break the phone if it hasn't been fully updated

Right. End result was 128Gb 2XL for $80.

That said, the one I got appeared 100% new, with the special protective plastic covers over the camera lens and over part of the back of the phone. Battery at 100%. So it was new, repackaged as refurbed, for $80. I got lucky.

Great phone at that price. Very good camera. Unlimited Google photos ("high quality") for free.

I grabbed a brand new 128gb 2XL from B&H about a month ago for $150.00. I just purchased it for backup duty. The only thing I don't like about it is the poor speakerphone quality but that could just be an issue with the one I have. It also has the major off axis blue color shift but it doesn't bother me at all. Battery life is pretty good especially on standby.

Google says no security updates since October 2020, why buy eol phone? It's better to put money towards a phone that is getting updates IMHO.

Xda has updates if you must, but google framework pretty robust these days. If you put something on like bitdefender you should be ok I mean for this price you could use it just for unlimited photos and save a ton over Google one alone. I kept my of pixel just for the application.
