I am a little unclear on whether or not my GTX 970 GPU would have an issue with this monitor. Im reading that NVIDIA 10xx series and up support FreeSync but would my 970 just flat out be incompatible?

Unfortunately there is no crap to talk about it. Specially at that price. This is officially the cheapest gaming monitor on the market. And it is definitely a good entry level gaming monitor. I do not even need it and I am also considering to purchase it because if the price it is being offered at.

When I have the choice, I try to buy gaming monitors because they typically have
good resolution and great response time. But I was surprised at the contrast ratio at this price…. 3000 to 1 is decent contrast since I'll be using it to view text as well as play the occasional game

Got two of these today, very good deal, came with DP cable and HDMI cable and monitor has speakers for those that want that.
