I'm guessing either you haven't watched the series or you aren't recalling it correctly. It's not Halo canon, but it's about characters living in the Halo universe - basically a Halo "fan-fiction" with a comedic twist.

Saying that Red vs. Blue isn't based on Halo is like saying that KOTOR isn't based on Star Wars.
