I'd wait for the system you truly want. It's not like these new consoles have a vast full library of new games yet, so no need to rush it. I would follow Matt Swider on Twitter. He's helped soo many people find a console, including ps5. PS direct is also a great opportunity, which he said happened just last week. Because of him, I've had the ps5 in my cart many times, but I'm specifically looking to get from Amazon.

It's great. Unless you're a hardcore gamer, you may not notice huge difference. It plays all games as series X and has better hardware than Xbox one X for lower price.
Have an old usb hdd handy. Series S storage will fill up quickly so you can swap games. If you have high speed internet, you don't need external hdd, you can delete and download games quickly.
If you're planning to get expansion SSD which costs about $250, then wait and go with Series X coz then you get 1TB storage for $500 and more ram etc
