Still hard / nearly impossible to find these in the store - Amazon has them in stock for list price.

Found this from a twitter bot:

There are a ton of games including game pass, and many look way better on the Xbox S than on any other precious Xbox excluding the Xbox One X (but even then, the S has some newer technologies that the X1X didn't have).

Also, good luck finding a gaming PC with equivalent capabilities for $300.
I'd wait for the system you truly want. It's not like these new consoles have a vast full library of new games yet, so no need to rush it. I would follow Matt Swider on Twitter. He's helped soo many people find a console, including ps5. PS direct is also a great opportunity, which he said happened just last week. Because of him, I've had the ps5 in my cart many times, but I'm specifically looking to get from Amazon.
Good luck finding a decent GPU for a reasonable price.

Thinking about picking this up because the PS5 seems so unattainable. Too much of PlayStation guy to pull the trigger though.

Best Buy has had the S in stock more or less for the past few months. Nothing special about this. It's the X and the PS5s that are impossible to pick up.

Stick with the Xbox one X or the series S? Walked into Walmart tonight and they had 3 readily available now seriously contemplating

Might as well wait for the Series X to come in stock. Or if you mostly use Game Pass, just pay for the subscription and don't buy either of the new series and just play Game Pass games on your PC. Not all the games are available, but a lot of them are.

It's great. Unless you're a hardcore gamer, you may not notice huge difference. It plays all games as series X and has better hardware than Xbox one X for lower price.
Have an old usb hdd handy. Series S storage will fill up quickly so you can swap games. If you have high speed internet, you don't need external hdd, you can delete and download games quickly.

If you're planning to get expansion SSD which costs about $250, then wait and go with Series X coz then you get 1TB storage for $500 and more ram etc
