Almost all of these 3200 MHz laptop memories with better timing, like CL16, only support that with XMP profile and most Ryzen Laptops only support JEDEC memory profile. As a result if you put a 3200 MHz CL16 XMP ram in those laptops, it will be defaulted to 2666 MHz CL16 JEDEC profile as that is the fastest JEDEC profile available and there is no 3200 MHz CL22 JEDEC profile available for these CL16 3200 Rams., resulting significantly lower performance.
next time, research a bit before complaining. I learned that in the hard way.

It was $112 so I dunno about "dropping like a rock." Prices merely seem to be returning to where they should have been without Covid.
Anyway, this is working great in a Dell Inspiron 16 plus right now.
What I think happened is the same "parts shortage" that makes buying new stuff more expensive and difficult put an even bigger hit on people who build their ow and upgrade. Now they have rush and fight for those sales lest they miss this group of upgrade cycles.
