I am having an issue finding the tech specs for this. Sorry for the stupid question. What processor is in this and how much memory (can it be upgraded).

This device isn't a standalone NAS device. It's intended to connect to a compatible Qnap NAS device to expand the available storage. For instance I purchased this to add 4 additional drives to my Qnap TS-453be 4-bay NAS. While I previously connected additional enclosures using USB, this expansion device allows me to leverage the advanced features of the NAS (ie raid). Great deal at $185!

I own two of these. They're merely expansions to a computer or NAS device. In my case I have them connected to a QNAP TVS NAS device via the USB 3/C plug that controls these enclosures and the HDDs within them. They don't have processors within them or memory that would allow them to act as NAS devices standalone. They're pretty shoddy in quality of the parts but they work fine and are quiet.

@heyvooh Thanks for the details. Can you confirm or deny if you can see the SMART status of the drives and schedule a SMART check on them or not?

This looks like a good price, but I will never buy a qnap again. I had a ts451+ which had a control board failure, which the company knew about, but refused to do anything for me in terms of RMA. Even worse, they said they couldnt get my data off of the drives unless I bought a new qnap because their raid technology is peoprietary. Build a freenas and never look back, or a synology diskstation if you want the small profile
Incorrect. I own this exact model and got a SMART error last week. Replaced the drive, rebuilt the RAID, and we're good to go. I strongly recommend this thing.
STAY AWAY FROM QNAP there is issues with hacking/ransomware.
It's a USB drive without independent network or a level 2/3 OS. This is utterly ridiculous. Your comment is directed toward an entirely different class of products by this brand.
