Get it at the sale price directly from Facebook! Ordered Portal Plus from Amazon when it was $99 and installed it at my parents. Pleasantly surprised! Audio is great, screen quality too. Zoom and Messenger video was a great experience and web browsing and Spotify setup too. Bought another 3, one for myself and gifting two to my kids Montessori school for zoom calls. I distrust Facebook like everyone else and actually stopped using Social media, but this is a great hardware device.

Can anyone comment on the web browsing capabilities? I'd like something for the kitchen countertop for touchscreen web use.

Browser is pretty usable. YouTube in browser worked well so decent power.

There is no youtube app. But you can go to youtube.com and see its videos.

Theres only 2 voice assistants so far Portal and Alexa.Alexa is matured enough.portal is limited.

White is out of stock, was the white one available from the beginning of the sales? Do you need to login to your profile in order to make it functional for others? I may need one for our guest place.

I was skeptical when AZ had them for $99 but got one for us and one for my MIL who is in an assisted living facility and hasn't grasped how to use her iPhone for this kind of thing… and my young kids get to talk with her as often as they want. Worth it just for this. It's also a nice piece of tech. Not the biggest FB fan but there's something nice about having a stationary video device with a great camera and screen as opposed to a phone or tablet.

If you're working from home, it's really helpful as this can act like a 2nd monitor, and you can join Zoom calls, or if you're in the 'Workplace' ecosystem, this is great for that. The speaker is pretty decent to listen to things like Pandora while you work too

I just wished they'd open this up a little more for developers - yes I understand FB makes money by folks browsing in their ecosystem, but you cant even CAST to this damn'd thing.

Also I was thinking about connecting fb for the family, BUT who is gonna have their FB open w/o privacy? Its like you have to make a dummy account for this - assuming u arent the only person living in your home.
