I am not an expert on ANC. But one thing I know is that Q20 blocks out more ac noise than q30 ever can. I compared both headsets with ANC off and found out that even without ANC q20 blocks out more noise. I think it has something to do with the design of ear pad.
I've got both the Q20 and Q30 and agree. When I need the better noise blocking I use the Q20. Otherwise I use the Q30 as the ear cups seem larger/more comfortable and I prefer the USB-C charging over the micro-USB charging of the Q20.

The control (volume, power etc) buttons are more tactile and easier for me to find and use on the Q20 but that's not a big deal for me.

The Q30 can also receive firmware updates via the Soundcore app. Q20 cannot.

What do you think of the xm3's?
Have xm3 as well. I mainly use them on a riding mower and I can clearly listen to podcasts lol. Noise can't be cancelled much more than that I'd think!

I bought these in pink for my wife. Sound is decent, headset is very light. I don't care for the button to turn on & off the headset. You have to press and hold for almost 5 or 6 seconds. That's too long for me. It doesn't completely block sound out.Other than that, it's decent for home use.
The Sony xm3 also requires an annoyingly long press to turn on and off. It might not be that long but it sure feels like an eternity LOL

Can anyone comment on the latency of the Q30? I have the Q20 and the latency is noticable. I no longer use the Q20 for videos, but it's been great for music and calls while walking the dog.

First world problems. If I can't have it right right now I don't like it.

How do those headphones work? I don't know but I want it to work now.

Just FYI anyone looking to use these with ANC while connected to an AUX source - as of sometime in June or July the headphones become disabled as soon as an aux cable is inserted, so you can not use the ANC at all until the aux cable is removed. It's a feature mentioned working in the manual but Anker support said the chip manufacturer required it to be disabled for improved Bluetooth connectivity. I'm on Firmware 2.3.0 and lost this functionality that I recall working before the update

This would seem to be a functional problem for use on an airplane. Where you're not suppose to use Bluetooth. Are you able to downgrade the firmware?

I imagine with most noise cancelling headphones, your ears are going to get warm really quickly? Assuming the air flow would not be good since they are made to block out sound.

I use these headphones at work pretty much everyday. I'm in a co-working space where it can get loud and it cuts away most of the outside noise, allowing you to focus.

Sure, it's not 100% ANC and I know $200+ pairs probably perform better, but if you're not an audiophile, you'll enjoy these.

Put these headphones on and distractions go away. It's also super light so I can wear it for 6+ hours easily. I have zero complaints other than a bit of noise bleed at high volumes. My neighbor about 6ft away can hear it at 85% volume. The sweet spot is 60-75%.

Simply put, if these are your first ANC over ear headphones, you can't go wrong. And put another way... if my headphones died tomorrow, I'd buy the same thing again.

Go on eBay. Buy the Razer opus. They're like $75 new. Decent XM3 alternatives. Look up their review on rtings if you don't believe me.
