You mean the beans are not actually oily/shiny? If they are, you will eventually muck up your built-in grinder.
they are, but not bad. I opened it up last month and cleaned out the brew group. I need to do the same for the grinder. we have done thousands upon thousands of shots using kicking horse espresso beans (these and one other), and they still are great.
