As a unintended collector of RGB keyboards I would buy this, but my wife would probably castrate me if I buy another keyboard

seems like a solid deal from everything im seeing, and with modularity in the future if you get into keyboards more you can easily hot swap switches

Same boat. I'm going for it anyways. Wish me luck.

Just received my Z15, with the bronze clicky switches. I'm a keyboard enthusiast, and I wanted a cheap, hot swappable base keyboard for a spare computer. Here are my thoughts:

First, for someone just getting into mechanical keyboards, this is a fantastic board at a fantastic price. I won't comment on the linear switches (I hate linears) but the bronze clicky switches are good. I'll be swapping mine out (probably Kailh box jades or box pinks), but for a beginner these are a great start.

Is the EVGA logo ugly? Sure is, but not as bad as people are making it out to be. Build quality is good, and you can't beat a 3 year warranty, especially with EVGA backing it up.

The key caps are… well, they are what they are. If you like RGB, get a set of pudding caps. If you want PBT doubleshot, you have plenty of options. It's a standard layout and your only limit is how much you want to spend.

All in all? Not my favorite board I own, but one I have NO problem with spending the $50 on. $50 for the board, $50 in switches and $30 in key caps and you have a very nice board that will last you a while.

How loud is the clicky one compared to linear? I got linear and the key presses seem quite loud. Kind of like they put a clicky one in a linear box.

That's not from it being clicky, that's from you bottoming out the keys. All mechanical keyboards will be loud if you're slamming the keys down, but clicky switches will have an audible click when the switch itself actuates.

In case anyone is not aware, while this keyboard has a report rate of 4,000 Hz it's input lag is higher then most other gaming keyboard brands at 1,000 Hz. Report rate is not the only factor determining input lag of a keyboard. How good the debouncing algorithm is, matrix scan rate, and how the PCB is designed impact input lag.

$50 is pretty good for a real mech keyboard but you can get better keyboards if input lag is a primary consideration for you.
