Costco is offering a 70$ rebate. It seems like a good price for a decent home security system. I hope this post helps someone

That's my plan. There is a 14 piece that goes on sale for $200 on Amazon a few times a year

Nice...wonder if they'd price match later if I buy it now or if they'd make you return & re-buy?

Our Ring alarm has been flawless. The option to do self monitoring is also great. I have it on front and rear doors and all the windows that are easy to reach. I also added a keypad for the back door. Definitely recommend if you're on the fence.

Which one is better compared to simplisafe Vs Ring?

I see Simplisafe is ranked no 1 in many portal, but not sure. appreciate any other feedback.

I really like ring. For $100 a year I get cell/battery backed up monitored alarm/fire/co/water and my doorbell gets the premium recording. It's a no brainer. I mainly got the alarm for the fire/co monitoring. Costco sells a 3 in pack of zwave fire co alarms that hookup to ring that often goes on sale for $80. My only real downside is that I haven't been able to integrate ring into my home automation stuff. I haven't spent that much time on it, but my hubitat system can't read the door status and stuff. I'd love to integrate the motion sensors in to some routines.

I think they're both good systems. I had the Simplisafe system for a few years then moved to Ring almost two years ago. One of the reasons I changed systems is the Ring cost less for monitoring ($100 per year vs. $14.95 per month or $24.95 per month if you wanted the advanced features available in the Simplisafe app) and it included any Ring cameras in the annual subscription. I think the biggest thing for me is when Simplisafe's newest generation came out you needed to upgrade the entire system. With the Ring system, all the components from the previous generation is compatible with the new generation (ie., contact sensors, motion sensors, keypads, etc.). None of Simplisafe's previous generation components were compatible with their newest generation system.

FWIW, my Ring systems have worked flawlessly at my homes in California and Arizona.

Installed Ring in our new place about a year ago. It's flawless. The monitoring for $100/year is a bargain especially if you have the doorbell. The self monitoring option shuts SimpliSafe down.
I bought this same package from Costco. It's a bargain. Battery life is outstanding. The motion sensors use AA batteries.

I really wish there was a sale on just sensors. I guess I could use another keypad but I don't need another base station...

you can get good deals on ring stuff on ebay, but no warranty. <$40 ring keypad gen2, <$25 ring motion gen2, <$30 ring door/window contact 2pk gen2, etc. if you purchase a lot of ring stuff you get an even better deal, but do you need more then one ring hub.
