This is the same as the Sony X85J, both are direct LED, not FALD and not MiniLED. The Sony is $100 bucks cheaper so I would stick with it.

Yes... it's $1299 now, but it wasn't at the time of my post. The 2021 model is not rated as well as the 2020 Q8DT because the 2021 model uses an ADS/IPS panel. Only the 50" and 85" have VA panels. If you're looking for a 65" ADS/IPS panel, the 2021 Q8 and the 2021 LG NANO90 would be good choices.
